Fast forward to 2012 and we have the new resort collection from Burberry. A bold move, to give their statement trench coat an injection of African Ankara (printed batik material). Not what you would expect from such an iconic British brand, replacing (momentarily) its instantaneously recognisable checked print with the equally recognisable, bold, vibrant, versatile, original African material. This proves that if you want to get ahead in the fashion stakes you need to be innovative and inspirational.
This twist in material is proving to give the newest collection its boldness balanced with quintessential British style – Burberry Heritage fused with a global Artisanal feel.
